Cabo San Lucas

A beautiful four day visit to Cabo San Lucas in August 2018. Cabo. A resort city on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, is known for its beaches, water-based activities and nightlife. Playa El Médano is Cabo’s main beach, with outdoor restaurants and numerous bars. Past the marina is Land's End promontory, site of Playa del Amor (Lover's Beach) and El Arco, a natural archway in the sea-cliffs.

First time visit to Mexico, so was a bit sceptical of what to expect! But I was pleasantly surprised at how welcome one was made to feel by the friendliness of the people. Even the hawkers, be they selling tours, souvenirs, or inviting one in for a drink or meal. I must admit, being confronted in such an overwhelming way, was a nuisance, especially when the hard sell started at the reception desk of the resort. But Time Share is a booming business, and the American dollar and tourist is in great demand. We did get two free vouchers for a sunset cruise,  and quad bike riding,  in return for 90 minutes of our time.

But, in general, the hawkers knew when to stop the hard sell. And then the conversation turned to having a laugh, and idle chit chat.

One bit of advice, and it all depends on your own comfort zone. We visited mid August. Off Season. Not many tourists, but the temperatures being in the 30 degree C+, plus humidity in the high 90's. Walks around town are limited between bars.
