A quick trip into Sydney last Saturday nigh, to find some night locations around Barangaroo. Try out my new Manfrotto Befree Advanced travel tripod, and a chance to meet up with my mate. It seems of late, we have different commitments that have kept us from having regular photo shoots.
I'm at odds about the MKBFRTA4BK-BH ball head that ships with the tripod.The operation of sliding a lever to one side, which in turn pushes another lever down. Maybe I'm not doing it right, but I do have to use a finger to push the second stage lever down. The head is rock solid, and will hold a Canon 5D Mk IV with a Sigma 20mm Art lens at any position with no creeping. But the head is new, lets see how the ball head performs after a few months use. And of course there is the much heavier 85mm Art lens, and then, my trusty 1.3 kilo 70-200mm Canon f2.8 L lens. The tripod is rated to hold 8 kilos.
