Australia Day 2019

26th January. Australia Day. Celebration of a Nation, or Invasion Day.

Booked into a Hotel with a room overlooking Sydney Harbour with views of the Harbour Bridge, and Opera House. Would have been nice to just sit by the windows and enjoy the view, But I had to go explore the city in the afternoon heat. Not many people around, could have been the heat, construction barriers blocking access. Or just the other fencing blocking views, so a select few could enjoy paid for functions. And the fact that some of the entertainment was held early morning. The next morning, with the day starting of cooler, before the soaring heat takes hold of the day. I ventured out to explore the city again. One had the feeling of being all alone, apart form the odd jogger, publicans washing down the footpaths after a heavy day of celebrations. The odd car that made it's way through road closures left over from the day before, or construction zones for the never ending light rail debacle.
