Sunday Sunrise

Having found myself being locked away from interaction with photography due to COVID 19. Today I found myself being woken by the alarm at 4.30am. My plan was to drive down to Wollongong  Breakwater Lighthouse to capture a sunrise.  As daylight came closer to sunrise,  the sky did not look promising.  A large rain laden cloud lay over the harbour.  And at 6am, with just a few minutes to actual sunrise, there was no evidence of any colour going to happen. Then with just a hint of pink outlining a few stray clouds, Then a burst of orange and yellow in stark contrast to the dark rain cloud. Around five minutes and sunrise was over. The sun appeared. And the clear sky became a mass of white creating a exposure nightmare.

All images were taken with a Sigma ART 50mm lens. The first image was in landscape orientation.  2nd image is a three image stitched panoramic in portrait orientation.  3rd image is 6 images. The last sunrise is a 7 image portrait with the tripod lowered from my eye level to 700 mm or thereabouts from the ground. The image of the lighthouse looking back towards the beach is also a 7 image stitched panoramic in portrait.

Then as I was leaving to return home. I found this "Frankenstein" Ford. A more creative description than Heinze 57, or Bitza!
