Decided to spend a few days in Newcastle for the October long weekend. 5.30am start,so as to miss the traffic on Pendle Hill road, and a lot of frustration. Rolled into Newcastle around 8am, and time to look for a place serving breakfast.
A 4am start to our drive to Port Macquarie. The reason for the early start, to avoid traffic on Pendle Hill road as people flee Sydney for the Easter long weekend.
The tranquil sea-side village of Patonga, sometimes written on early maps as "Betonga", meaning "oyster" in Aboriginal, is the most southerly beach on the Central Coast. Situated on the edge of recessed Brisk Bay.
